Pineapple Express (2008)

so one down on that list of mine 668 to go :P

anywho Pineapple Express.. i have gotten so many different responses... some say it is great others that i should just stay away from it.. but it is on the list so yeah might as well make my own decision on it.

so Dale Denton (uh Seth Rogen) is a 25 year old process server dating a high school girl.. Dale has to serve his drug dealer's boss ending with him seeing le boss killing a competitor. Now Dale and Saul (dale's drug dealer) is on the run from hitmen and a corrupt cop. Sounds good doesn't it? oh yeah there was also something about smoking Pineapple express...

oh wow... so now i totally understand my friends being split on this one.. what an odd movie :S

so it has it funny moments.. truthfully it has a lot of funny moments but dang the story is just fucked.. i guess if you are high or just know what it is like to be high then it gets better but seriously... it is just way out there.. the whole drug war is like fake or something and what was the dealio with the drug lord and the female cop?

so yeah it is defiantly not a movie i plan on watching ever again.. wow i'm still amazed at how fucked this movie was.. really i'm not even sure i would recommend it as a onetime watch :S on the other hand if i had been wasted (which do happen from time to time) i would properly had laughed a lot more than i did.. i might  also have done a little more off that focus thingy that should be so healthy.. oh well one more off the list right :)

The Bounty Hunter (2010)

Okay so i started operation watch my wanna-watch list XD... thing is i'm sick at the moment and watching movies kinda kills the time between coughing and sleeping.. and my series are on break.. me suspects Superbowl though i don't see the reason (not the biggest sportsfan in case you were wondering)... so my current wanna-watch list is about 669 movies not that i have any clue why it keeps being so huge since i on average watch like a movie a day :S anywho.. project starts at the buttom of the list.. gotta start somewhere and in the middle seems kinda wrong XD

now to picking the movie.. off cause i have at some point thought oh wow that movie looks interesting i should watch that.. but ehm my mood shifts kinda often and so does my want of movies.. so sometimes i don't feel like watching a certain type of movie anymore even though it still looks interesting.. get my drift? anyway sitting on page 17 of my list i figured that i'm to sick and tired to watch a subtitled movie.. also documentries would not get the attention i believe them to deserve.. so half the page is already dead XD now the question is should it be comedy, action or sugarsweet romance.. given that this is written before the title of the post you are gonna know already what i choose.. but hey let a girl ramble right ;)

The Bounty Hunter (haha guess i went for everything) is about Milo Boyd a bounty hunter who gets hired to hunt down his ex-wife Nicole. Oh looks like trouble from here :P He off cause thinks it's gonna be a easy job (typical men?) but then she slips away and they end up running for their life. Oh boy oh boy can't wait to see this one (being sick might make me overly eager)

disappointed i was not.. the movie brought everything i needed in just that moment.. since i am sick i loved the fact that it was so simple and yet hilarious complicated. It did present all the classic boy and girl can't figure it out problems but hey it kinda does the trick :P and it was an extremely fun movie. Was it girly.. well yes but the small action-parts and the cracking jokes makes up for it.. this is definitely a movie you can watch in a mixed group or along with your boy/girlfriend.. it will make a fun evening out of it.. Anyway it is clear why it got so much attention back in 2010 when it came out in theaters

oh and i love Christine Baranski in it... don't know why but i just find her cool and funny (oh must be a good wife episode up soon) and tell you the line i remember the best from this movie is Christine Baranski as Nicole's mom saying this...

"oh and bring the phone i want a picture.. a tiny picture of his ass that's all i ask"

just priceless :P

4.3.2.1. (2010)

ha-ha it is Saturday and i have to work :( on the other hand i have just been sick for a week lying in bed all day being less than productive. surprisingly i haven't even been watching a lot of movies actually it has been a very  minimum of movies coming by me. Anywho yesterday i actually got out of my bed... mainly because i felt a need to communicate with ppl and sure enough as soon as BirthE my darling laptop got turned on i just had to find a movie.. so i went screenshopping for one.. and then it just hit me out of nowhere 4.3.2.1

I had seen the trailer for this one and at the time thought oh this looks interesting but getting from that to actually finding the movie some link must have gone missing.. but found it i did and well why not.. it couldn't be worse than the last one i saw.

so here is what it is about... well 4.3.2.1. is very short about 4 girls doing 3 days in 2 cities having one chance. So yeah that was VERY short XD

the longer version... you follow 4 girls, Shannon, Kerrys, Joanne and Cassandra. In the beginning they are out dining with each other and when they leave they get "hit" by a group of guys running down the street. They have their goodbyes and split up to live each their life. Over the course of 3 days you follow each girl through their events giving you a little more clarity for each story toward the big picture, starting off with Shannon and ending with Joanne. And wasn't there something about a diamond theft?

So to be honest about 20 minutes in I was really confused and yet I  could not stop watching. I just had to know how it was gonna end. And the thing is the story is very well build and the characters believable and even touching. The 4 girls how different they may seem they work well together. And as you get through Joanne's story it just makes it so much clearer what is going on through these 3 days. Because just like Shannon you as a viewer sits in this place not really knowing what the heck is going on or why people are doing the things they do. Simply because you need each part of the story to be fully for filled.

Anywho long story short I was on the edge of my chair the entire movie. Totally sucked in as i tend to do while watching movies. And i really felt each girls story. Also there was some fine eyecandy and some really cool action scenes and who am I to argue against that? To be honest my first reaction to this movie was to text my friend and tell him it was AWESOME!!!!!! second reaction was to figure out why half the staff looked so dang familiar XD found out.. IMDB is for the most part my friend :)

now watch watch watch.. this is true movie magic I swear :)

OMG i loved that :)

okay so this is gonna be a little different than what i normally do.. girl here has to do something to get back on that writing track also I just have to get it out there...

So a while back i watched  Lost Girl and just fell in love.. this is also why i have been waiting for a really really really REALLY long time like a little girl waiting for santa to come with her presents.. and then in the ending of December where i almost gotten calmed down to act well as normal as i can be again (this came with the aid of another series that i do adore.. anywho) where was i.. oh yeah ending of December.. they started teasing me :-o what cruelty!

yeah yeah she's been found.. wait found what.. suspense is killing me as it has been the entire summer hey hey don't leave me hanging here.. okay so you post another teaser.. lets have it

oh how very kind of you ô.Ô

so yeah i'm not that happy about teasers and yet i watch them... to be honest I kinda HAVE to... i simply put love this series and don't know how to survive the next week.. yes i watched the new episode today.. yeah yeah it premiered on Sunday but with time zones and me feeling a need to sleep before going to work monday (and afterwards) i had to wait until today...

I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!

I usually keep from using the term OMG (mainly because it seems kinda wrong when not believing in "the dude") but dang i loved that episode... it had everything... the long waiting for EVIL Bo and then more than one element of surprise and of cause that lovely sweetness I just love in this series XD

so if you haven't seen the new episode yet.. go do it.. really do..
if you haven't seen the first 2 seasons i really recommend you do..
need more info on what it is.. you could check my blog-entry about it right about here: Lost Girl
or maybe say hi to the official site:  www.showcase.ca/lostgirl/

a little late Happy New Years

so i have been sooo bad at getting things done this past month (December and the beginning of January apparently) anywho.. Happy New Year from me :P

to me the year has gone way to fast.. and a lot has happend.. yeah i have munch my way through a whole lot of movies and series but on personal grounds i been busy busy busy.. in august i told you people that i've moved to another appartment.. got roomies now and yeah i kinda dig that.. it's nice with company even when you don't really see them.. :) also the move to the middle of the city instead of out where not much happens has done me good.. open mikes night is a load of fun (and yes i have been going out a lot more) also i started in school which now leave me looking for a job so i can finish that education of mine

as for movies goes.. i did a little project this past year.. the thing is it is really hard arguing that you don't watch to many movies when everytime someone mentions one you already seen it.. so i started writing down what i really have been watching.. and i'm sry to say.. but for now on i'm properly gonna loose any argument about me watching to many movies..

in year 2012 i have watch a total of 246 movies and 337 episodes of various series

oh yeah and the favorite movies of the year is a tie between 3 of my favorites How to Train Your Dragon, Repo! the Genetic Opera and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron

so i'm gonna be off again.. enjoy your January ppl :P

Freedom Writers (2007)

This is a movie I found on telly one night when I was really getting ready to bed. I off cause ended up watching the damn thing not going to sleep until 3am. I was amazed by the movie and have wanted to write about it ever since but eh stuff got in the way...

Freedom Writers is about a new teacher in a public school forced to do a integration program. She is given a English class filled with "low class" students that all have given up on getting anywhere else than the gang life they are already part of. The thing is so has all the other teachers. They see them as a scum that can't be taught anything. The new teacher Erin struggles with the class and in a moment of rage over a drawing she learns that the kids doesn't even know what the Holocaust is, giving her an idea toward how she should teach these kids.

This movie reminds me so much of Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer, a movie I has watched a lot. It is the same type of new teacher comes to town and teach young kids that every one else has given up on. Freedom writers however is more modern (to be fair dangerous minds premiered in 95) and it gives a lot more insight in the change in the kids. Erin gives the kids a change to be heard by giving them the assignment to write whatever comes to mind. This is also through this assignment we as a viewer gets to hear what is going on in the bright minds of the kids, how their lives works, how everything is ruled by the gangs.

Not living in the US and not being confronted with the issue, because in my part of the country gangs aren't really a problem, I know next to nothing about it. But given I do know it's a problem I believe this movie is really good at showing in an entertaining way what is going on. Don't get me wrong I know that movies like this show a "romantic" side of the gang wars. After all the movie has to sell tickets. On the other hand the use of the words from the book gives it a more real feel to it. And i do find it that the use of the book works really well.

I really recommend watching this movie. If it scares you it should. It is about real life and about real kids that society has just given up on. Simply just Watch it.
