Rango (2011)

So yeah this is not really the first time I watch Rango... not the second time either.. actually the first time was in cinema with Mini-Me... The thing is my sister had to buy a present for a friends birthday and she dragged me into a store selling movies.. it is a favorite store of ours but kinda expensive since they have so many great movies at cheap prices and you often end up with like 10 movies you feel like you can't live without..  Same goes for yesterday.. found 4 movies and a present I could not live without.. my sister did the same..  anywho one of these lucky movies that got to go home with little me was (can you guess it?) Rango! I of cause popped it in thinking i need a small fix of Johnny Depp and to a happy surprise of mine realized there are 2 versions... a theatrical and an extended... just had to see the long one no way around of that...

Rango is a Chameleon from the city.. his entire life he has been living in a cage believing himself to be undiscovered actor. He act around with his friends (the toys given to keep him company) but he is beginning to realize that his character, the hero, is missing conflict. With that said conflicts hit the dear Rango. He ends up all alone in the desert and gets the advise from a armadillo to go find water, but to find that he must first find dirt. Now all there is left is to sit back and watch how Rango finds his inner hero.

Clearly I love this Animation.. First off I only buy what I love to watch.. secondly I have watched it sooo many times.. It's a fun movie and Depp is so great in it (to be fair I haven't seen a movie yet where Depp wasn't great) Rango is such a great character and to see this awkward dude become the accidental hero is always a fun thing.

A thing I love about Rango is that, to me, it has managed to capture the essence of those old Westerns that surfaced after the war. It builds up like most of them did (haven't watched to many westerns but in some ways they are quite similar)... but also it brings more to the table.. because the wild west is kinda dead by now and it shows you how modernization changes the life of a lot of people without them realizing.. big changes often happen without the majority noticing and those who can't adapt get lost behind. In Rango changes are of the big evil because there is not that big a need as it is but when the change has happend nobody seems to mind though..

As for the extended version goes.. well there is a few extra scenes but to be honest I didn't really notice.. but it is properly me who wasn't all that observant... that tend to happen when you cook and chat at the same time as watching a movie.. but now I can watch it as often as I feel like.. Rango is safe and sound in my shelf... happy days to me ;)

Lost Girl (2010 - ?)

Back to series land... as a movie-muncher I go through these WAY to quick... anyway series it is... seems like I have a thing for finding things where I end up having to wait for new seasons... oh goodie

Lost Girl is about the Fae world.. For those who doesn't know what Fae is I can tell that it is the world of mythical creatures... most know of these would be vampires and werewolf but there are a hell of a lot scary monster stories told to explain or keep people from doing stuff... In this series you follow Bo a Succubus that has been hidden from the Fae world since childhood. Therefor she has no training in controlling herself either... meaning bad things tend to happen... she gets caught by the Fae community after one of these "bad Things" and since she is unaligned she is put through the test after which she has to choose to be either Light Fae or Dark Fae...

Finding trailers for shows proves to be hard.. finding one for a show that sadly has not been released on DVD yet even harder... this is a great fan-made trailer for the show.. enjoy

Let's start of by saying GO Canada! As they proclaimed them self "others got Vampires we got a Succubus"... It is a interesting show... with lots and lots of sex given we are dealing with a succubus.. And yes with so many vampire movies, series and stuff it is nice to get something else of the mythical world. Especially with the new standard of vampires (arhhh sparkling).. also the characters are just so neatly put together they fit in their own weird and sometimes awkward way (girl here loves her drama)... actually the crew is so great in this that i can't settle with one favorite character.. And in episode 9 of season 2 you get to see just how amazing a crew this is.. really amazing... it's a rare treat of the filmed world to see just that..

If I have to choose favorites though then I really like the doctor, Lauren, for well no good reason other than Zoie has this amazing smile and puppy eyes and I'm such a sucker for that...  also Kenzi is just adorable.. street smart and all she is so cute and comes up with the greatest comments ever... even when she is dead serious she tends to make you smile or giggle a little... thumps up for Ksenia Solo...

uh it is like christmas....

To point out just how great I think this show is I can end by telling you that it took me the time of about 4 days to go through all that has been aired so far.. that is with long shifts at work and stuff like that.. (so little sleep o.O ) and I have the feeling that September 2nd is a hell of a long way from now :) so really go Canada and pretty please give me some more of this stuff...
