Stoneshearst Asylum (2014)

This is a fine example of me hating the trailer and yet being intrigued enough to watch it anyway... trust me when i say i'm glad i did.

Stonehearst Asylum is about okay okay Stonehearst Asylum. Or well its about a young medical school grad who comes to Stonehearst to gain some experience in the workings of asylems. Soon upon arriving though he for starters is taken by one of the patients whom he does not believe to insane and well given the movie takes place in a time where a man in a dress in considered insane and one of the cures for insanity is being hosed down with cold water fair change is she isn't. Anyway... he also seem to realize that something isn't as it should be and after a little trip to the basement well lets just say he's not entirely wrong...

now i do put trailers on but... if the text above does intrigue you please please please do not watch it... it will ruin so much for you... you be much better of getting the surprises within the movie,...

truely hate that trailer.. sadly it seem to be a thing in trailers these days to reveal pretty much the entire movie..... sometimes the trailers even seem better than the bloody movie... anyway the  movie the movie the movie

given that i did see the trailer beforehand and that i seem to have a slight ability to remember almost every piece of information i come in contact with i did know the major plot twist before even starting the movie.. which just plain sucked... this movie has so much potential, so much thought and ways of making you think about things and then a stupid trailer wrecked it.. how is this even remotely fair? I mean here we have a movie right up my alley with the whole human psyche as the center of the story and i bloody loved it.. i just hated the fact that i wasn't surprised by half the movie like i should have been... i did get a few surprises though don't worry but still..

anywho... this is actually a good movie and i think it might even be a more than once kind.. and if you did stay clear of the trailer i do recommend it more than a lot.. sadly for this movie the thing i find wrong with it is the trailer :(

Pitch Black (2000)

I'm watching lost I swear it... however... was out in the real world this weekend and ended up at a friends place.. we turned telly on and there was this movie on with quite the kick of action.. i did not know that i missed it... anywho my friends boyfriend told me that it was part of a series and that the first one was little know but worth the watch... wanting to watch the said movie again i found the prequel... hence me writing all of this stuff ;)

Pitch Black is about well ehm this commercial transport ship that just for the fun of it is transporting this guy that have just been captured after escaping from prison and is sort of like i dunno... dangerous to humans... and we off cause is transporting him along with a... oh you guessed?... a group of humans.. goodie that just sounds like THE PLAN of all plans... anywho.. said transport ship doesn't really like being all to close to a meteor storm and ship, crew and passengers crashes on this planet.. most of them being safe and sound on this hot desert planet finds well 3 suns and some nasty nasty aliens with a taste for flesh... good news is nasty aliens only hunt at night... the really really bad news.. well every 22 years this planet has an month long eclipse... and oh yeah it is about to occur...

I don't know why but i always said that i'm not to big on sci-fi.. don't know where it went wrong but ehm i have been watching a lot of sci-fi's in the last couple of years... and i like it... think it might be because a lot of sci-fi's has a good amount of action in them and i am a girl for the action c", )

anywho what do i think of this movie...? oh boy oh boy oh boy... there were like aliens and and uuuuuuuuhhhh shiny eyes >.<

sorry i do realize i need more sleep... on a more serious note though... it is a really good movie... storyline got you a bit on edge yet is predictable enough so that you don't get totally lost.. the aliens.. well i like their design and i like that they used the design.. it is not just looks it actually has a point to it.. oh and then there is a lot of blood gory and other goodies...

Angela's Eyes (2006)

The episode i'm on shouldn't in my current series didn't work...  so i had to occupy my time with something else and for some reason movies didn't seem all that interesting. so what is a girl to do.. well went on my wanna watch list and took a look on the series i put on it. Just for laughs (or something) i can tell that at writing moment it is on the small amount of 315 series... so yeah i went to the bottom of the list (seems easier since it has a bad habit of growing) and took a look.. and there it was Angela's Eyes

oh you never head of this one.. not that surprising... Angela's Eyes only aired one season back in 2006 and well i encountered a fair share of bad words about it... anywho i found it intriguing and why not watch it then?

What is it about uhm well.. you have Angela, she's a FBI agent in a ehm special unit working with tough guy Leo and well geek boy Dozer... Angela is a kinda special agent though.. you see she can tell if you are lying (well on most parts) oh and she is the daughter of 2 of US's biggest traitors.. oh goodie

and nope there's no trailer for you this time.. there might be a few clips on youtube but what i have seen so far they aren't all that good at giving an idea on what this stuff is about..

anywho... i rather like the concept of this series.. reminds me of a nice mix between Alias and Lie To Me... i do give it people are right about the acting part however i am one of those extremely gifted people that can look beyond that fact if the story is good enough.. thing is that i since i was a little kid has been able to live myself into a story so full hearted that people sometimes makes fun and tell me i'm cute while watching stuff with me (or if i talk about it with them) because i am lost in it.. if the movie is interesting enough it is not possible to talk with me during it.. i just won't be listening.. anyway i got a bit of this while watching Angela's Eyes.. the story caught on something and i would have loved to see where the story would have gone after season 1.. this was however not to be and well i'm not gonna lye around crying about it.. there are a lot of other series that are better...

what this series did the most though was reminding me just how much i miss Lie To Me... sniffles...

Black Swan (2010)

So back to movie land... it's been a sort of long vacation for me as i have been doing series for quite a while now... actually have a post waiting to be finished... anywho... went to the bottom of my wanna-watch list (yes i'm weird like that) and there i found Black Swan. Litterally been on there for ages(well you know) and i have been told it would be a good watch... thing is i'm not overly happy about Natalie Portman whereas my buddy is a huge fan... Mila Kunis on the other hand i find kinda cool.. but the movie is clearly about Portman's role... soo yeah takes me a while sometimes...

anyway Black Swan... Well who doesn't know the story about the Swan Lake? okay i will tell but just because i can.. The Swan Lake is about a Princess turning into a white swan.. only way to turn her back is the true love stuff and when mister right turns up he is seduced by evil sister the black swan... making the white swan sad enough to commit suicide... sorry for spoilers there

Now that we got that down lets go on to the movie.. Black Swan is about a NY ballet group that are going to start the season with an interpretation of the Swan Lake... (swan lake is produced a lot in many many variations) For the production Nina is chosen for the lead role as both the white and the black swan.. However where her White Swan is perfect she is struggling a bit with the black swan. Mainly because she has trouble with letting herself go...

oh yeah right have to talk about it to.. well ehm where to start.. the movie isn't bad.. it is rather weird than anything else.. i do get what is going on in it though.. Nina is clearly a troubled young woman.. she has been psychology abused by her mom.. not in a deliberately mean way though.. Nina's mom just been living her dreams through her daughter in an extend that makes Nina strive to be absolutely perfect.. a thing most of us know to be impossible... giving this pressure to be perfect Nina's mind crumbles and she gets lost in various delusions (the fancy name for this is psychoses)...this is ultimately a struggle between her innocence and her desires. Or to link it to the ballet world her white and black swan.. thing is her innocence is not natural and only exist because of the constant pressure from her mom and the over protectiveness that comes of it.. underneath is the desires and fears of a young woman trying to be herself.. which i take is hard when mommy dearest tend to be sleeping in a chair next to your bed..

The movie does come with an interesting concept and i did enjoy it for the most parts.. the ballet dancers helping with the movie did a good job and well the actors weren't half bad either.. and the music.. well i can really be a sucker for classical music so i was all happy there.. hm really should get my act together and try going to the ballet one of these days..

Compulsion (2013)

You know about that thing about YouTube getting me into trouble...well yeah this is another fine example.. like i said in my last post i was doing a bit of surfing on the subject of Wentworth when YouTube was kind enough to suggest me to watch Heather Graham Snogging Carrie-Anne Moss... (i have absolutely no idea why YouTube keeps suggesting movies like that.. no sirrie)... anyway since i'm a major fan of Heather i watched it and i kinda liked it.. it was a bit weird and that curiosity thing kicked in.. so i figured out what movie it was so that i could watch the trailer...

ehm can you say HOOKED?

i mean look at that delicious food... really.. it almost made me hungry... even if there wasn't a good chance at looking at boobs trying to escape (which has high chance of happening in this one by the way) i still just simply had to watch.. i mean its food..

anywho where was i... (yes i actually had to get up and find myself some food...) the movie right.. hmm the movie... so yeah heather portraits this INSANE lady Amy that likes to cook and really dreams of having her own cooking show called Amy's Food for Love... don't know who she channeled here but it is very cute and insanely creepy... like every time she is in the kitchen pretending she is on TV i get a little scared... Anywho.. Amy finds out that her neighbor is the celebrity Saffron (play by the lovely Carrie-Anne.. surprise) a woman she has been in love with since childhood.. after Amy dumps her fiance in a rather disturbing way she starts obsessing with feeding Saffron who isn't overly happy about this... they do in some weird way start to come close like friends or maybe even lovers (as i already told they were snogging)

however... to me it feels like the movie wraps up way to quickly... you have this long build from strangers to friends and then all of a sudden Saffron goes missing and you really don't get a clue toward what actually happened or really why.. i got a small idea since the movie leaves a lot to self interpretation but i just i don't know it was just to fast.. like this long build that was quite interesting just hit an anticlimax and just rolled over and died... oh well at least there was some pretty things to distract you a lot along the way

and not even a small hint about them being 17 and 20 years older than me (oh my Heather has the same age as my mom...) they are some fine young women to look at... and trust me Carrie-Anne is absolutely adorable with her big glasses on...

Orphan (2009)

oh i thought this one was on the list... it wasn't.. oh well

so after spending the week watching a few series (oh who am i kidding i watch a whole season) and stuff i needed to get my mind of things and chose a thriller as my tool. Thing is today (friday) i'm gonna start at a new place as a trial thingy and i am nervous as hell... anywho

in Orphan you follow this family who after the loss of an unborn girl choose to adopt a nine year old girl Ester into the family. But as soon as they have welcomed her into their home they start realizing that Ester is not like most little nine year old girls...

so i have to get this off right away... this movie has the creepiest start i have ever in counted.. seriously i was almost ready to just turn it of right then and there... luckily i didn't :)

so i know i don't post a lot about this type of movies.. and that is even though i truly love watching them.. the thing is spooky movies is in my opinion best when watch with others.. the thing is i'm pretty sure i'm kinda a pain watching these movies with.. main because getting that adrenalin shock, that these movies are design to give, makes me laugh XD i rarely get scared just hm startled... that on the other hand is something i do a lot in... playing girls actually got me jumping O.ô

so why did i enjoy this one so much.. well i tell you (that i believe is the point of being here) it is quite unpredictable.. and it has a lot of twist that you might see coming but they don't really turn out as you thought they would.. that is in my beliefs the ultimate goal for any thriller or horror...

also that nine year old girl Ester.... (very talented played by Isabelle Fuhrman)... she was creepy as hell... i mean it... it got to a point where a friend i was writing with asked me if i was aware that she was fictional XD i was but yeah well

on a other note.. just to point out how much i recommend this one.... this is one of the few in this genre I actually wanna buy and keep on my movie-shelf... that tells a lot more than most would think...

4.3.2.1. (2010)

ha-ha it is Saturday and i have to work :( on the other hand i have just been sick for a week lying in bed all day being less than productive. surprisingly i haven't even been watching a lot of movies actually it has been a very  minimum of movies coming by me. Anywho yesterday i actually got out of my bed... mainly because i felt a need to communicate with ppl and sure enough as soon as BirthE my darling laptop got turned on i just had to find a movie.. so i went screenshopping for one.. and then it just hit me out of nowhere 4.3.2.1

I had seen the trailer for this one and at the time thought oh this looks interesting but getting from that to actually finding the movie some link must have gone missing.. but found it i did and well why not.. it couldn't be worse than the last one i saw.

so here is what it is about... well 4.3.2.1. is very short about 4 girls doing 3 days in 2 cities having one chance. So yeah that was VERY short XD

the longer version... you follow 4 girls, Shannon, Kerrys, Joanne and Cassandra. In the beginning they are out dining with each other and when they leave they get "hit" by a group of guys running down the street. They have their goodbyes and split up to live each their life. Over the course of 3 days you follow each girl through their events giving you a little more clarity for each story toward the big picture, starting off with Shannon and ending with Joanne. And wasn't there something about a diamond theft?

So to be honest about 20 minutes in I was really confused and yet I  could not stop watching. I just had to know how it was gonna end. And the thing is the story is very well build and the characters believable and even touching. The 4 girls how different they may seem they work well together. And as you get through Joanne's story it just makes it so much clearer what is going on through these 3 days. Because just like Shannon you as a viewer sits in this place not really knowing what the heck is going on or why people are doing the things they do. Simply because you need each part of the story to be fully for filled.

Anywho long story short I was on the edge of my chair the entire movie. Totally sucked in as i tend to do while watching movies. And i really felt each girls story. Also there was some fine eyecandy and some really cool action scenes and who am I to argue against that? To be honest my first reaction to this movie was to text my friend and tell him it was AWESOME!!!!!! second reaction was to figure out why half the staff looked so dang familiar XD found out.. IMDB is for the most part my friend :)

now watch watch watch.. this is true movie magic I swear :)

Crime d'amour (2010)

Yeah a French movie... I might have mentioned this a few times by now but I simply love french movie. Been watching a lot of them and most of them tend to end up on my list of favorites. This is no exception.

Crime d'amour or Love Crime, as the English title is, is a movie about Christine, an international business woman and her assistant Isabelle. Christine is the type to play with everything and everyone for her own pleasing and sure enough she is going to toy around with Isabelle to. Isabelle is exceptional at her job and seems somewhat in love with Christine and therefor willing to do pretty much everything to please her. One day however Christine takes credit for one of Isabelle's ideas in front of Isabelle and Isabelle is slowly beginning to see the game and that Christine might not be as good as she believed.

Okay so I kinda dig these movies where you see the human behavior at its worst (or should I say best?) The thing about humans is that we tend to like to see people at their worst behavior. Might be why reality shows are so in at the moment. Though I don't fall to the trend of reality shows I also enjoy watching this game that we play with each other even though most people wont admit it. This movie is a bright example of how cruel people can be and what effects it has when they are. How emotions blend in to whatever we do even when we hurt others. Off cause the title indicates that love is a feeling that we are gonna see a lot to in this movie. But there are so many types of love and most people don't realize how much love is a part of our life. Mainly because most people define love as a feeling you feel for someone else.

So rambling aside if you like french movies and/or movies with the content of cruelty of human nature this is one to watch. Some might say that some of the actors where stiff or whatever.. I must admit I don't usually notice this.. guess that when i do it's really bad ;).. and truly you could pretty much always say someone else would have done better, since it is a matter of taste. However I did noticed that maybe I should start watching more with Kristin Scott Thomas. I have watched a bit with her in the past and always found her a good actress. My amazement of her in this movie is that she can get so many different expressions without moving a muscle in her face but simply by the changes in her eyes. Love that in an actress :)

The beginning of a beautiful tradition

So my friend, yeah I spend quite a lot of movie time with this friend.. :) Anyway when we first met he told me he was gonna "teach" me to watch horror movies. The thing about horrors is that I truely belive that it is a group activity... also I have this thing about laughing in really inappropiate moments... :P So we havn't really watched that many in the time we spend together.. don't get me wrong we have fun making good food and watching different movies. So we desided in the spirit of the upcoming All Hallows Eve to go all in.. So this weekend we did... some good food... the try to make a little scary food and some horror movies... The choice of food fell on a chicken burger-sandwich thing... soooo good.. really yummy. And for well it was dessert.. like a couple of hours later... we had this tombstone/graveyard mud thing we found right around here... the thing is being danish the american measurements don't make much sense. Actually I'm fairly sure we did something very wrong in the translation. Which is why I kinda renamed it to Death by Chocolate. It wasn't bad it was just really heavy and it took some time to get through.. and you'd get a bit of a sugar rush.

so to the movies.. :)

After.Life (2009)
I really like this one. It is more a thinker than a scary one, but that should not stop you. Anyway the movie is about funeral director, Eliot, who is preparing a young woman, Anna, for her funeral. Doing this Eliot is talking with Anna, telling her he has a gift to talk to the dead. Anna however doesn't really believe that she is dead. Giving the interesting question and plot of the movie.. Is Anna dead or not?

So no surprise i wanted to watch this one because of Christina Ricci. I think she is a great actress and I am actually ashamed to say that I haven't seen all that much of her later work. Ricci was the actress I grew up with watching her in Casper and The Addams Family. Remembering her like this has in some ways made it a little difficult seeing her as an adult especially because she is so damn tiny.
Anyway I loved her in this one. I felt like I got the same quirkiness I remember from The Addams family.. but an adult one. You know?
Back to the movie. I was really intrigued by this one. Basically I love movies where I have to think about it, where I can't figure out what exactly is the truth. And this is definitively one of those movies.

Insidious (2010)
Insidious (good thing I'm writing cause I have no plans on pronouncing it.) starts of about this family of five moving into this big ass house. Now like any half descent horror movie of cause the house is scary. One night the oldest son climbs to the attic and falls down, alerting the house with his scream. Next day the boy won't wake. And then really weird things starts to happen...
So even with my lack of knowledge in the horror genre I know that this is the way a lot of horrors goes. I liked most of the movie. It was interesting and the effects where spot on and somewhat spooky. But in some way i guess it just didn't fit together. Like the movie was trying to be to much. know what i mean? Well I just believe that this is one of the movies where the "less is more" would have done so much for the movie. As we got along in the movie I got the feel that it was explaining to much. I generally just really like to think for myself and i felt like it was not that big an option. Now you might think I hated Insidious. I didn't, I actually liked it. I was entertained, I got my small jolts of shock, I even had a descent story to follow... it just could have been more by using less.

Trick 'r Treat (2007)
Trick 'r Treat is 4 (well 5) stories put nicely together as one. It tells the story of Halloween tradition (like trick or treating) and what happens when you don't abide to the rules of tradition....

So this is a really bloody one.. lots and lots of lovely blood (yes I'm a creepy one). Loved Trick 'r Treat for the fact that even though it is smallstories it actually fit together...  It is these small stories and one big story all wrapped up in one :) ... So get your costume on light your jack o'lantern, find a plate of spooky treats and put on Trick 'r Treat... if you dare!

Also Sam is just adorable
Happy Halloween

oh and remember ALWAYS check your candy

Cracks (2009)

So this is another weird movie, but at the same time one of those you just simply can't take your eyes off. I mean as the movie got along i started hating some of the caracters and care and love others. Like really getting into the story. And the absolute best part is that at no point did i feel like it was getting to predictable on contrary i was hoping what was going to happen next wasn't really going to happen. (really really hoping) Which to me just makes a movie so much better.

So Cracks is about a bunch of girls in a british elite bording school in the 1930's. This particular bunch has a very special relationship with a young teacher and don't really socialize outside the group. In the beginning of the schoolyear the girls are told that they have to welcome a spanish girl into their group, not something the girls are rather fond of. However the spanish girl gets accepted, that is untill unwanted attention and jealousy gets into the scene.

So if you didn't catch it in the beginning, then i am gonna say it flat out now. I loved this movie. The quirkiness, the thrills and the cruelty of human beings is something that never ceases to amaze me. And this movie has plenty of it all. This is also thanks to the actresses that does the amazing job of protraying things we humans rarely want to admit exists in all of us.

This is however somewhat a chick flick. It is about the cruelty amongst girls (a thing i noticed very few boys know that much about) I do mean though that boys could enjoy this movie if they are into watching movies about human natures darker side.
